Our commitment is to minimize the environmental impact of our newspaper production.

Frédéric Malbranc, Manufacturing Director, Groupe Profession Santé

“As a printing professional, I’m faced with a real environmental challenge. Every day, I commit the Group to minimizing the environmental impact of our newspaper production.

Over the past 3 years, we’ve taken a major step forward in our paper sourcing. Today, 100% of our paper comes from sustainably managed forests. By 2022 and 2023, we have integrated 100% recycled paper into our products. On some of our titles, it can represent up to 65% of our consumption. We have also chosen papers produced less than 1500km from our printing sites to reduce their carbon footprint.

Our commitment also extends to our choice of suppliers who share our commitment. Our printer has adopted practices aimed at reducing our carbon footprint, notably through energy sobriety, waste recycling and reuse of machine production heat. The use of vegetable-based inks and white inks is another notable advance. Vegetable-based inks use a vegetable base such as soya or rapeseed. They are less toxic and use naturally renewable resources, unlike the mineral inks (based on petroleum, a non-renewable resource) frequently used on the market.White inks make it possible to recycle our paper.

Finally, we have redesigned our logistics chain to minimize transport distances. The printing site is strategically located close to the points of distribution, and routing and binding are integrated on site. What’s more, we were pioneers in replacing polyethylene film with more ecological alternatives, such as home compost and Publikraft.

All these actions reflect our desire to minimize our environmental impact while providing quality products. My commitment to sustainability is a continuous quest for improvement and innovation, and I’m proud to contribute to a greener future.”
